Another big designer is joining the children’s fashion world and this time it’s Isaac Mizrahi. The New York designer officially announced his plans to launch a signature collection of clothing and accessories for newborns and infants. His company has teamed up with bon bébé and Xcel Brands in a licensing deal to both manufacture and distribute the line.
Although he is known for his adult fashions, Mizrahi isn’t a stranger to kids fashion, in fact during the ’50’s, ’60’s and ’70’s, his father Isadore ran a a boys’ apparel line called Rydal Manufacturing.
WWD reports that Isaac Mizrahi’s new baby line will include a black and white group, that is meant to ‘be a funny take on sophisticated adult clothing”. The 25-piece infants’ collection will debut in department stores and specialty stores in fall 2012, with girls’ and boys’ clothing expected to be added down the road.
