Ever since I was a little girl, I poured over copies of the Hannah Andersson catalog, admiring their matching cotton pajamas for moms, dads, kids and babies. I loved the concept and kept the idea at the back of my mind for the day when I started my own family.
Fast forward 20 years later, and the company still sells those beloved long johns. Some old favorites like the striped versions are cult classics, but you can also find organic varieties and many other versions have been released especially for the holidays.
These long johns are lightweight, yet keep you toasty so if you are spending the day skiing, snow tubing or snowboarding, they provide an extra layer of warmth underneath your clothes.
Remember that fabulous baby monitor we told you about a couple of months back? You know, the one that allows you to listen and watch your child even if you are halfway across the planet? Well, they are hosting an incredible giveaway for new parents, and frankly I’m a little jealous because the prizes are amazing.
In case you missed our last post about the monitor, EVOZ is a revolutionary baby monitor that is ideal for techie parents. Not only does it sync up with any Apple device (laptop, iPad, iPhone, iTouch), it also allows you to check on your baby with one of those devices, regardless of where you are. You don’t have to worry about the monitor’s reception as your receptor is your current OS device.
It also collections information on your child’s sleep cycles and crying patterns, which could come in handy – especially if you are trying to get them on a routine/schedules.
Toronto has many family friendly hotels, resorts and accommodations, but when it comes to luxury, there are maybe a handful in the downtown vicinity. Donald Trump had plans to change that and has since followed through with his brand new hotel.
Trump International Hotel & Tower Toronto is slated to open January 31, 2012. Not only is this to be a hotel of luxury, it will also be Canada’s Tallest Residential Building, towering over 900 feet above the city with a total of 65 stories.
Located downtown in the heart of the financial and entertainment district, visiting guests will have no problem accessing nearby attractions such as the new Opera House, the Harbourfront, Rogers Centre (formerly SkyDome) and Air Canada Centre. Of course, you are also steps away from world-class shopping, museums, galleries, theatres and Toronto’s lively restaurant and nightlife scene.
Accommodations will consist of 261 cosmopolitan-style guest rooms and suites, all furnished in palettes inspired by Champagne and caviar and complete with all of the comforts of home. They will be the very first hotel in Canada to introduce flat-screen LCD IP televisions in their suites. Other high-tech conveniences include bedside touch-panel controls for window coverings and lighting.
The hotel looks as though it would be quite family friendly with their spacious suites ranging from a minimum of 550-square-feet to 750 (the Presidential Suite is a striking 4,000-square feet).
The hotel will also have their own restaurant, STOCK, led by culinary master Executive Chef Todd Clarmo. For those wanting to indulge in the ultimate R&R, a 18,000-square-foot exclusive spa and wellness facility is there for your convenience.
Although they won’t open until January, reservations can be made now by visiting www.TrumpTorontoHotel.com or by calling (855) 88-TRUMP (87867).
