Thanksgiving Day Kicks Off The Holiday Shopping Season

Most stores are usually closed on holidays and reopen the following day –  Black Friday the day after Thanksgiving, Boxing Day the day after Christmas. This year however, several stores are providing consumers a chance to get a head start on the shopping craziness and have decided to open on Thanksgiving Day!!

The economy has hit many stores in a negative way and they are hoping the next few days will bring in plenty of shoppers. According to an article by Reuters, Wal-Mart, Gap Inc’s Old Navy and Kmart will be open today in order to get a headstart and Toys R Us will open this evening. Best Buy, Macy’s and Kohl’s will open at midnight, the earliest they’ve ever opened.

In regards to Black Friday sales, Wal-Mart will start their own “doorbuster” deals tonight at 10 p.m. and Amazon.com will begin their deals online at 9 p.m.

We will provide a list of the online Black Friday deals and steals tomorrow morning, so be sure to check back!
