ERGObaby Buys Orbit Baby & Announces Plans To Expand

Two of my favorite companies have joined forces and I couldn’t be more excited! The ERGObaby Carrier, issued a press release yesterday announcing that they have officially acquired Orbit Baby.

The ERGO is hands-down my favorite baby carrier and after testing out numerous carriers with all three of my children, I have yet to find one that rivals it. As you well know, Orbit Baby markets a premium line of high quality stroller travel systems and wide range of baby gear including car seats, strollers and bassinets that are easily interchangeable using a patented hub ring. Check out their latest edition for 2012. Amazing right?

In the press release the CEO of ERGObaby and co-founders of Orbit Baby commented on the merge.

Tim Bruer, CEO of ERGObaby, stated,

“This attractive acquisition provides a great opportunity to further our rapid growth in the Baby Durables market. With this complementary line of advanced stroller travel systems, we intend to further expand our distribution levels in the U.S. and internationally. We look forward to seamlessly integrating our operations and working closely with Orbit Baby’s management to drive future performance.”

Joseph Hei and Bryan White, co-founders of Orbit Baby, will continue to serve in senior management roles.

“We are excited to join the ERGObaby family,” said Mr. Hei. “As the fastest growing brand for baby carriers backed by CODI’s financing structure, ERGObaby provides an ideal fit as we grow our ability to bring world-class safety, convenience and design to solutions for taking children on the go.”

Well, we are certainly excited to see what they will come up with in the near future!
