Spa Week Gives Moms An Opportunity To Treat Themselves Affordably {GIVEAWAY!)

by Ciaran on October 5, 2011

What will $50 buy you?

During Spa Week, it will buy you bliss.

We all mean to get to the spa, but as working moms we don’t make the time.  An hour long massage or a treatment like a facial or spray tan seems like such a luxury, and at times, an unattainable one.

It shouldn’t be. We all deserve a break and a chance to be pampered.

That’s the entire point of Spa Week. It’s a reminder to make the time and take the time for yourself. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune.

I had the extreme pleasure of previewing a treatment at a spa participating near me. The Cloudmover Day Spa in Huntington Beach has won several awards and acollades for their treatments including being voted #1 on the FOX/OC Hotlist: #1 Massage 2011 & #1 Day Spa 2010. The atmosphere of the spa is warm and friendly, and it’s clear that they enjoy a loyal and steady business from their local clientele. Their clients come back because they know that the practitioners at the spa really care!

My hour long hot stone massage (with citrus back polish) was something I’ve been wanting to treat myself to for a long time. I’ve had massages before but never with heated stones. I tend to go in for the more basic (and lets be honest, less expensive) massages if and when I do make the time to go.

It’s like I’ve been having apple pie without the a la mode. What was I thinking? That hot stone massage was amazing! The warm stones unlocked all my tension. It was just the thing to soothe my many aches, pains and knotted muscles away. I won’t wait too long before trying it again.

The effects of a good massage are lasting and real. Taking the time to relax and freeing yourself of pain is worth so much. I just needed the reminder to make myself and my own well being a priority again. I’m sure that as a mom, I’m not alone in needing that prod. I’m going to find the time to take better care of myself and find ways to check out new and premium services like this more often.  Want to join me? Spa Week is the perfect time to get started.

Moving into its 15th installation this Fall, Spa Week will continue to bring the most innovative and wellness-focused services at an affordable cost to deserving consumers across the United States and Canada.

From October 10th – 16th, hundreds of day spas, medical spas, resort spas, yoga and Pilates studios and other health and fitness centers will offer 2-3 exclusive services for a discounted price of just $50 each. As always, Spa Week works with some of the most prominent, trusted names in the industry and is responsible for educating spa-goers on how to incorporate specific treatments into their lifelong health regimens.

Since its inception, Spa Week’s goal is to open up the spa industry to the masses by making the spa lifestyle available to everyone. Spa Week was created and founded by Cheryl Reid, who hails from successful careers within the luxury spa industry and publishing spheres.

Want to get in on these discounted treatments? Simply register on SpaWeek.com for exclusive information on participating spas and their $50 services.

GIVEAWAY: In lieu of their launch, Spa Week is offering our readers a chance to win a $50 Spa Week gift card to be used at any of their participating spas across the USA or Canada.

Once in a very blue moon I go- usually when I get a gc. Not nearly often enough but the medical bills eat up every spare dime.

I have only been to the spa 2 times in my life. It’s one of those extra special things that just doesn’t fit into my budget….would love to go more often.

Erica G October 12, 2011 at 4:37 pm

In my 34 years I have only been to the spa twice! Now that I realized how much time I am not giving myself, I think I need to re-evaluate things!

This article seemed to only skim the surface of the benefits of yoga. Did those who practiced yoga use Ujjayi breathing? This warms up the body and allows for deeper stretching. Also, yoga improves strength not just flexibility – how does that play into pain relief? It is also pretty well known that meditation can decrease pain. Perhaps intense stretching has the same meditative qualities that yoga does and that is why they found the same amount of pain relief in both groups.
