Maclaren Designs The Charley’s Fund “I Believe” Triumph Stroller To Raise Money For DMD

Oh, I love when companies use their influence to do good!

Maclaren was recently introduced to Tracy Seckler, founder of an organization called Charley’s Fund that directs money into the hands of researchers who have the best shot at developing a treatment or cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

The goal of this organization is to cure DMD in time to save Charley Seckler’s (the organizations namesake) life and the lives of thousands of boys like him. In case you aren’t familiar with the disorder – DMD is the most common fatal genetic disorder to affect children around the world. Kids affected cannot produce dystrophin, a protein necessary for muscle strength and function and thus, as a result, every skeletal muscle in the body deteriorates. Although Duchenne is the most common fatal genetic disorder to affect children, there is no cure.

Maclaren wanted to use their name in order to bring awareness to the disorder as well as to raise money to find a cure, so they decided to create the Charley’s Fund “I Believe” Triumph buggy. All proceeds from the sale of this stroller will go directly to Charley’s Fund!

Weighing in at a light 11.5 lbs, the “I Believe” offers Maclaren’s multiple position recline, 5 point harness with height adjustable shoulder straps, a removable washable seat, foot operated brakes and a handy mesh shopping basket. It can hold up to 55 lbs and is appropriate for children ages 3 months and up.

The stroller is available now and can be purchased exclusively through Maclaren’s Online Store for $195.
