Last Saturday (September 10), celebrity parents and their little ones flocked to the Rivera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, CA to attend the first ever Red CARpet Event. Hosted by Ali Landry, presented by Spokesmoms and sponsored by Britax and Buick, this event was held in association with Safe Kids USA to help spread the word about the importance of child passenger safety.
Incredibly, 3 out of 4 child safety seats are not used correctly, which is quite horrifying considering that in the U.S. motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children ages 3 and up.
Many celebrity parents at the event took advantage of the Safe Kids USA’s on-site child passenger safety technicians. A team of nearly 15 installed new Britax car seats and boosters for guests, as well as educating them about the importance of car seat safety, proper installation, etc. Celebrity Mamas that took advantage of this included official ‘Car Seat Ambassadors’:
Tori Spelling (who attended the event with her children Liam and Stella), Garcelle Beauvais (new seats for her twins), Samantha Harris, Constance Marie, Kyle Richards, Alicia Coppola, Constance Zimmer, and Sarah Drew (who got a seat installed for her soon-to-be born baby).
Other celebrities who took part in the fun included Tiffani Thiessen, Constance Zimmer, Lindsay Sloane, Sarah Lancaster, Jessica Capshaw, Marla Sokoloff , Ian Ziering, Isabella Rae Thomas, Marisa Coughlin, Candace Cameron Bure , Kyle Lowder and Arianne Zucker, Sean Patrick Thomas, Bree Turner, Brooke Anderson, Michelle Stafford, Brandon Molale, Archie Kaoand Christie Lynn Smith.
Kids of all ages enjoyed a wide variety of fun activities such as face painting, crafting and wax hands, while their parents checked out the latest cars from Buick, Britax’s car seats and strollers, clothing from Children’s Place, and products from USANA, VTech Toys, Mabel’s Labels, Sensa, Nestle, among others.
Oh, now I’m jealous .
You’ll be happy to know that for those of us unable to attend the celebrations, Safe Kids USA will host more than 300 car seat checkup events during National Child Passenger Safety Week, September 18-24. The times and location for these events can be found at www.safekids.org.
