Upcycled Girl’s Dresses Created Out Of Men’s Shirts

While browsing through Etsy, as I can so often be found doing, I spotted the most adorable girls dresses that I have seen in a while. Lately I have had an obsession with stripes – especially blue, red, and white together in a combo, so these dresses caught my eye right away.

The designer is Etsy mom Jessica of Jezbilinka, who uses upcycled men’s dress shirts for the dresses. A great idea, as there are a ton of men’s dress shirts available at thrift stores, and many are unique! For the three currently in her shop, she chose similar stripe patterns, but she makes note that she is happy to make a custom dress if you’re looking for something specific.

I love how playful and lightweight the dresses are. They seem great for outdoor summer play, and are the perfect length to act as a tunic over tights when the weather begins to cool a bit. Now, I realize that these are “dresses,” but I have to admit that I think they would make the most perfect night gowns as well. They remind me very much of the nightgowns of my own childhood. Adorable!

You can view the upcycled dresses at Jezbilinka’s Etsy shop, where they are available for $28 USD.
