Last week, Ralph Lauren debuted the third installment of their online shoppable children’s storybook collection with The RL Gang: An Absolutely Awesome School Adventure. This year, the story is actually narrated by Grammy® Award-winning recording artist and philanthropist John Legend in support of the Show Me Campaign. During the first month of sales on RalphLauren.com, 15% of all proceeds from the Fall 2011 Childrenswear collection will go to the Show Me Campaign, an organization that provides clean water, health care, education and other basic tools in Africa.
In the latest storybook, each character’s personality is unveiled through their own individual sense of style as you will see from the 16 new looks pictured below. As with previous collections, customers can choose to view the character’s “virtual closet” to shop similar looks and then click to purchase instantly through Ralph Lauren, The Bay and Bloomingdales.
So what can we expect in terms of trends for Fall? Ralph Lauren has taken inspiration from vintage varsity dressing with their Rugbys, fleece sweaters and graphic tees all providing an old-school feel. The usual khakis and chinos offer versatility, while tops like bright plaid shirts, chic stripes and luxurious cashmere add a pop of color and preppy sophistication.
Girls are treated to classic plaid and Fair Isle patterns, distressed denim, lace-edged leggings and athletic graphics. Outerwear includes
an embellished tweed blazer, sporty down vests and new barn jacket silhouettes.
Love it as much as we do? The line is available for purchase directly through Ralph Lauren.
