The LeapPad Explorer: LeapFrog’s New Learning Tablet For Kids (UPDATE!)

LeapFrog has jumped into the tablet market, coming out with their very own LeapPad Explorer™, a multifunctional learning tablet for kids. Suited for children ages four and up, the LeapPad Explorer builds off the popular Leapster Explorer offering endless fun and educational experiences, helping to improve kids’ phonics, vocabulary and reading skills. It also includes a built in camera, video recorder and microphone, making it the first children’s tablet to offer such a wide range of features.

This announcement comes just days after VTech announced the launch of their own electronic tablet, the Innopad! Seems as though Apple has started a real trend.

Other perks:

  • Parents and kids can wade through a huge learning library offering 100+ learning games, videos, e-Books, flash cards, and more, all compatible with the entire existing Leapster Explorer library.
  • The full color 5″, finger-touch screen creates an interactive experience.
  • Although sleek and thin, The LeapPad Explorer is designed to withstand roughhousing and busy, little hands.

UPDATE: The LeapPad Explorer retails for $99.99 USD with downloadable applications starting at $7.50 and game cartridges at $24.99. The toy can be pre-ordered now through our affiliate Amazon.com and will be available to purchase through major retailers worldwide beginning August 15th.

Other countries such as Australia and New Zealand will receive shipment later in the year.
