Cost Plus Recalls Their Wooden Animal Drums To Lead Paint Violation

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled 1,000 Wooden Animal Drums from Cost Plus Inc. due to a violation of lead paint standards. The paint used on the drums was tested and is in excess of the maximum allowable level of 90 ppm. The level is a violation of the federal lead paint standard.

The wooden hexagon drum toy features pictures of animals on all six sides. The SKU No. 424857 is printed on a sticker on the bottom of the drum.

So far, no injuries or incidents have been reported. The drums were sold at Cost Plus World Market stores nationwide from December 2010 through May 2011 for about $7. If you own one of these toys you should immediately stop using the toy and return it to Cost Plus World Market for a full refund.

For additional information, contact Cost Plus toll-free at (877) 967-5362 between 7 a.m. and midnight ET seven days a week or visit the firm’s website at www.worldmarket.com.
