Lisa Loeb’s first theatrical production – Camp Kappawanna – recounts her musical journey as a kid in summer camp
Families can take a fantastic trip to Camp Kappawanna this summer—well…really it’s a musical that will transport you to summer camp with cool music by Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Lisa Loeb.
Camp Kappawanna marks Grammy® Award-nominated multi-platinum selling singer/songwriter (and new mom!) Lisa Loeb’s first musical production. She launched her career in 1994 with the No. 1 hit song, “Stay (I Missed You).” Loeb created Camp Kappawanna’s music and lyrics along with collaborators Dan Petty and Michelle Lewis. The work celebrates her days at camp, where she first learned to play the guitar.
Loeb is a strong believer in the importance of helping others, so she created the Camp Lisa Foundation which raises money to send children to experience summer camp who otherwise would not have the opportunity. Lisa is also thrilled about the upcoming release of her first book with Sterling Publishing, “Lisa Loeb’s Silly Sing-Along: The Disappointing Pancake and Other Zany Songs” being released in Fall 2011. She also guest stars as parrot princess, Winger, in Disney Junior series “Jake and the Never Land Pirates.”
