The Amazing Noah’s Ark Encounter Theme Park Get’s The Official Go Ahead From Kentucky

The Ark Encounter could very well be one of the most incredible family attractions to hit the United States in the next 3 years. This project just received the official go-ahead from the state of Kentucky last week, with the Kentucky Tourism Development Finance Authority granting more than $40 million in tax rebates for the $172 million project that was/is being financed by a group of unidentified private investors.

Located in Grant County, Kentucky, The Ark Encounter is scheduled to open in Spring 2014 on about 800 acres. A non-profit subsidiary of Answers in Genesis is a member of the Ark Encounter LLC and will oversee the project.

This incredible one-of-a-kind historical and biblical themed attraction will include a full-size, all wood replica of Noah’s Ark! The attraction will also include a first-century Middle Eastern village, a replica of the Tower of Bable, a walled city including theaters, lecture halls, retail shops and restaurants as well as a large petting zoo and live animal shows featuring giraffes and elephants.

Groundbreaking should begin in August and according to Rob Hunden, a consultant who reviewed the proposal for the Tourism Development and Finance Authority, the project is expected to draw over 1.6 million visitors in the first year.

Wow! What do you think of this new project? Talk about going all the way!

If you would like to be a part of this monumental project, you can partner with the Ark Encounter by sponsoring a peg, plank, or beam that will be used to build the Ark. Visit ArkEncounter.com for more information.
