Young Versace: Versace To Launch Kids’ Fashion Line!

Yesterday, The House of Versace announced the launch of their new children’s wear line under the Young Versace brand. Confirming the news exclusively to WWD, Versace says the collection launch for Spring 2012, in conjunction with Pitti Immagine Bimbino Florence, the international children’s wear exhibition slated for June.

“This is a high-end, glamorous and colorful collection in line with the brand’s essence, with a touch of rock ’n’ roll,” said Gian Giacomo Ferraris, chief executive officer of Versace SpA. The label’s iconic symbols, such as the Greek frieze and the Medusa, will be reinterpreted with a sense of irony and fun prints in natural fabrics.

Ferraris described Young Versace as a “full collection,” which complements Versace’s product offer, and will be produced in-house. “Donatella Versace strongly supports and is behind the project, we have a state-of-the-art technological platform and supply chain, and we directly manage our core business,” he said, referring to the Novara, Italy-based plant.

Their previous collection Versace Young, was discontinued in 2004. Young Versace will be aimed towards kids from infancy to age 12.

Oh, I’m so excited! First Lanvin and now Versace? Kids have quite a bit to look forward to in the fashion department that’s for sure!

I’m expecting a lot from this collection :-) Versace is a great designer, not only for clothes but for many other things like interior design as well! I hope he’ll add his colorful and flashy edge to the otherwise so classy designer kids clothes :-D
