David Beckham & Snoop Dogg: The Next Fashion Designers For Babies & Kids?

April 13, 2011 by admin No Comments

David Beckham is apparently in talks with his pal Snoop Dogg to design a children’s fashion line! David, who is currently expecting his fourth child with his fashion designer wife Victoria, is planning on developing the ideas with Snoop when he visits the UK in July to start his three-show tour.

Snoop Dogg recently dished on the new partnership saying:

“I’d love to do a Babygro range and baby house shoes with Beckham,” said Snoop Dogg. “It’s going to be fly. It’s great news they are having a baby.”

The rapper is said to have already sketched out the ideas for the collection!

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see ;). With Victoria Beckham‘s designs selling out and her eight-year-old son Romeo‘s recent fashion deal, it only makes sense for David to join in the fashion fun!

Disney Officially Breaks Ground On The Shanghai Disney Resort!

by admin No Comments

It’s official! The Walt Disney Company and Shanghai Shendi Group broke ground on the Shanghai Disney Resort last week, after receiving approval from the Chinese government in Beijing. In celebration, both parities held a groundbreaking ceremony paying homage to the culture and people of China, complete with a female soloist singing in Mandarin, traditional Chinese drum music, a 50-voice Shanghai children’s choir and Mickey Mouse dressed in a traditional Chinese costume.

“Today marks a significant milestone in the history of The Walt Disney Company,” said Robert A. Iger, President and CEO of The Walt Disney Company. “Our Shanghai resort will be a world-class family vacation destination that combines classic Disney characters and storytelling with the uniqueness and beauty of China. Working with our Chinese partners, the Shanghai Disney Resort will be both authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese.”

The new Shanghai Disney Resort is set to open in approximately five years and will be home to Shanghai Disneyland, a Magic Kingdom – style park that will mix classic Disney characters and storytelling with experiences specifically tailored to the people of China. An interactive Disney castle offering entertainment, dining and performance experiences will be at the very heart of the park and a gorgeous 11 acre green space will offer a place where friends and family can enjoy customs and cultural celebrations together.

The size of the site in Pudong, Shanghai where the Disney Resort is being built will be approximately 963 acres, offering additional room to expand in the future. Once opened, the resort will include Shanghai Disneyland, two themed hotels, a large retail, dining and entertainment venue, recreational facilities, a lake and associated parking and transportation hubs.

Family Resort In Review – Ocean Reef Resort In Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

by 3 Comments

We arrived in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina at 3 p.m, just in time for our check in at our hotel, Ocean Reef Resort. The GoogleMap directions led us right to the parking lot, and we were relieved to leave our cool Canadian early spring and arrive in the land of sun and sand – if just for a brief week.

The hotel staff was lovely, and we were directed up to our room on the 11th floor, which was actually meant to be the 2nd floor, but the staff member kindly offered us a room with a better view of the ocean as it was our first time there. Good to note for those who are hoping to visit and would like a nice view in the future!

Our room was an Oceanfront Deluxe with two queen sized beds. Big enough for our family, and equipped with a kitchenette, dresser, television, free wi-fi, (though I had to unplug this when I used the phone due to static) and balcony.

Though I wanted to love everything about our stay at this hotel, after hearing rave reviews from a friend that regularly stays there, it took me a few days before I could truly enjoy my stay.

Diane von Furstenberg Debuts The DVF Maternity Collection

by admin No Comments

Oh yes she did! The fabulous, incredible and infamous Diane von Furstenberg has come out with her very own line of maternity clothing!

Although the collection is quite small (four pieces) it is an answer to the prayers of so many women who have requested that DVF design a line for expecting mothers. Just last month Diane von Furstenberg, announced the launch of DVF Maternity and debuted the collection on their website.

Forget the plain solids, DVF’s collection is anything but boring with the geometric patterns splashed across the 100% silk jersey tops and dresses. Hot Popcorn is the red and white print, and Fans (my favourite) is a beautiful and classic black and white pattern. Both designs are available in the Jiletta Top ($245) or Julianetta Maternity Wrap Dress ($365).

No news as to whether DVF is planning on releasing a new collection anytime soon, but for now we have these 4 gorgeous pieces that are seasonally neutral – perfect for anytime of year.

About Me

She’s a mom to two girls and a baby boy, a writer and the publisher of Child Mode. As a lover of style and fashion, Nadia found her ‘niche’ and love of children’s products while searching for quality items for her children. The internet can be overwhelming at times and although America has some amazing products, Nadia likes to find ‘hidden gems’ in Europe and Australia where the designers have a knack for creating innovations and styles that are covet worthy.
