SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment Announces 10 Brand New Attractions For 2011

Lots of exciting things happening at SeaWorld and Busch Gardens this year! Over the next couple of months SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment will be unveiling 10 new attractions across the country making this the largest single-year capital investment in the company’s history!!

All three SeaWorld parks: “One Ocean”

All three SeaWorld parks in Orlando, Fla, San Diego, Calif. and San Antonio, Texas will feature a brand new killer whale show: “One Ocean”. This show will feature majestic killer whales as the ambassadors of the sea with the ocean as the center of our natural world. With vivid colors and sensations, the show will educate, immerse and connect guests with these amazing animals. “One Ocean” is scheduled to premiere at SeaWorld Orlando at the end of April, SeaWorld San Antonio in June and SeaWorld San Diego  on Memorial Day.

SeaWorld San Diego: Turtle Reef

Turtle Reef is an attraction exclusive to SeaWorld San Diego and will allow guests to get an up close look at 60 threatened or endangered sea turtles. Also featured: thousands of tropical fish, a new ride and more including a nearly 300,000 gallon aquarium with a massive underwater viewing gallery.

SeaWorld San Antonio: Sesame Street Bay of Play

Featuring Elmo, Big Bird and all their friends, the Sesame Street Bay of Play will offer  three acres of fun rides, shows and play areas. Rides will include Big Bird’s Spinning Reef, a delightfully playful Ferris wheel; Elmo’s Dolphin Dive, a vertical drop ride; and Abby Cadabby’s Rocking Wave, a ride that rocks forwards, backwards and sideways. Little Bird’s Splash is a water area where kids can play in 22 water elements such as bubblers, geysers, jets and dumping buckets.

SeaWorld Orlando

In June, the Discovery Cove will be opening  The Grand Reef, an all-new area featuring multiple levels of exploration, from shallow waters to deeper swimming adventures and white sandy beaches and hammocks swaying in the breeze,to snorkeling among canyons inspired by reefs from oceans around the world.

Whether you are snorkeling in deeper water with thousands of exotic fish and rays swimming around you or dipping your toes in the shallow water amongst the ocean life, guests can experience the incredible marine life first-hand with this new exhibit.

For an even more exciting adventure, the SeaVenture offers underwater walking tours using dive helmets.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay: Cheetah Hunt and Cheetah Run

Opening this summer, Cheetah Hunt sets a new record for Busch Gardens’ roller coaster at 4, 429 feet of track, bringing guests through the Cheetah’s natural habitats, giving them an opportunity to get closer than ever with elevated, glass-paneled viewing areas.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg Mäch Tower will lift up to 30 riders nearly 200 feet into the air, and Vanish Point in Water Country USA is another adrenaline ride offering pure thrill.
