United Colors Of Benetton Spring/Summer 2011 Children’s Fashion Collection Preview

Aptly named ‘A Day At The Farm’, United Colors Of Benetton takes inspiration from the countryside for Spring 2011. This is a world many children – especially city kids – rarely have a chance to see. With it’s flavors, smells and colors, a magnificent adventure is sure to be had when seen through the eyes of a child. Of course, this calls for a varied wardrobe!

Girls can choose from romantic or sporty with A-line dresses in either poplin or jersey, flouncy cotton check blouses matched with denim miniskirts and jackets. Printed tees and blouses with tiny floral prints can be matched with tartan or chenille jersey shorts, giving off a true country feel. If it rains, the crushed-effect gingham trench coat takes on shades of magenta, lime, cornflower blue and mauve, together with ever- fashionable blue and white.

Boys need time for some serious exploring – jumping, climbing and running. The clothes in their line reflect and accommodate these activities. Key pieces such as colourful T-shirts with maxi script motifs; ripped, distressed jeans; and yarn-dyed check shirts can be mixed and matched. The “farmyard adventurer” look rounds off with garment-washed embroidered hoodies, camo-print (to hide the dirty marks!) combat pants and jackets, with jersey trousers offering total freedom of movement and cotton piqué polo shirts in shaded colours with a faded effect. His colour palette, too, is bright: turquoise, yellow, magenta and coral softened by blue and white.

Both collections are available now, directly through United Colors of Benetton. You can view the entire collection in the slide-show below. Enjoy!
