Marithé + François Girbaud Children’s Spring Summer 2011 Fashion Line
With Marithé + François Girbaud, fashion becomes a way into freedom of speech. This is evident when you look at their designs from the present and past. Rules are scoffed at and they teach a thing or two when it comes to originality! In fact, if you want me to be blunt, the collection is tinged with sheer madness…
Drole De Zebre offers black, white, grey and metal blue shades tinged with fluorescent hues. Tops and tees have shiny/matte effects and “Save the planet” messages. Small metal chains and fluorescent laces tease full volume dresses. The new shorts jumpsuit is to be worn with a loose-knit jumper from the sailor’s wardrobe, knitwear is transparent lighted by icy and fluid shades.
The shirt is constructed on the basis of trousers; it has a sophisticated back looking like shirtfronts… Confusing, muddling up reason, but never short on comfort!
Tulip graphic prints are combined with ramie cotton, knitwear is sprinkled with twinkling sequins, petticoats are edged in denim braiding and crumpled ramie satin trousers are worn under a two-sided smock with back lacing. In terms of shades think light meets shadow with chocolate used with abyssal blue, underlined with sky blue and white.
Anti-Crise teaches you that this is no time to get worked up! Merry essentials for everyday include smock, short pants, jumpsuits, beach dresses. Cotton items use Latin-American hues and are over-embroidered with patterns and pompom details. Summer shorts are peppered with red embroideries remind of craft know-how in South America. Bleached denim/linen short pants go with brightly coloured tops and over-dyed natural silk designs are fluid and very light. And to top everything off, citrus fruit and luminous white punctuate the refreshing palette of aquatic blue or amaryllis.
