Disney & Michael Caine Unveil The New Cars 2 Toy Line At The 2011 Toy Fair
Today at the 2011 American International Toy Fair being held in New York City, Disney unveiled their brand new Disney·Pixar Cars 2 toy line of over 300 toys to media and toy industry insiders. Academy Award-winning actor Michael Caine, the voice of the British agent Finn McMissile of Cars 2 and actress Emily Mortimer, the voice of his spy-in-training Holley Shiftwell, participated in a panel discussion and helped to present the custom-built toys.
The most anticipated toy would have to be Mattel’s Lightning McQueen Alive, the first toy of its kind that has utilized cutting edge micro technology and touch sensors to capture the moves, sound, look and animated personality of the red racer himself in a 1:55 scale car.
He moves his life-like mouth to speak phrases voiced by actor Owen Wilson, shrugs his shoulders, moves his eyes and drives in complete 360s, backwards and forwards. The Lightning McQueen Alive ($59.99) will hit stores in Fall 2011 and is available for pre-order here.
Other hot toys include: The LEGO Group’s Spy Jet Escape, Disney·Pixar Cars Wood Collection and Spin Master’s Zero Gravity Finn McMissile radio control vehicle, to name just a few.
Cars 2 hits the track June 24 and will be presented in Disney Digital 3D™ and in IMAX® 3D in select theaters.
