After interviewing Alison Sweeney a couple of weeks ago, I was really looking forward to reading her new book, The Mommy Diet. As a mother to two (third on the way), I have read my fair share of pregnancy books, taken some advice and thrown some away. The Mommy Diet is very different from other pregnancy books, because although most read in an authoritative tone, this book reads like a chat with your best friend.
Starting from before conception, Ali writes about how to prepare your body before carrying a child and then offers advice for each trimester, ending with how to get back in shape post-partum. Offering step-by-step directions for safe exercises through the different stages, healthy meal and snack ideas, and tips on how to keep your relationship happy and alive during your pregnancy.
Even though I’ve had 2 children already, I found many of the tips helpful, especially the citrus oil for morning sickness tip, which has helped me tremendously!
Alison shares lots of straightforward tips, fashion insight and personal anecdotes in this warm, accessible, funny guide to everything from pre-pregnancy through the first nine months postpartum and helps moms-t0-be stay fit, pampered and positive throughout their pregnancy and helps them regain their body confidence after the baby is born.
You can purchase The Mommy Diet through Amazon.com in both the hardcover ($14.41) and Kindle version ($9.99).
