12 Days Of Giveaways Day 9: The Award-Winning YBike

Bikes are a tricky purchase – especially when it comes to toddlers! You have to worry about training wheels, the size of the bike and whether or not they are even ready to ride!  What many people don’t know is that balance bikes are your best bet during the early years. Why? Well, while promoting active play, balance bikes also help toddlers develop balance and coordination. Because balance bikes don’t have pedals, children don’t have to “learn” to ride them. They simply sit and run along with their feet – pure fun!

The award-winning YBike ($79.99) is very different from other balance bikes. Mady from high quality, lightweight (yet durable) injection molded plastic, this bike is designed with an extended front fork angle that allows safe turning and offers a high ground clearance to ensure safety regardless of the terrain. The large wheels are perfect for safe riding on uneven ground and the two closely aligned rear wheels help to keep your child balanced, but still allow them to lean their body side to side while turning around corners.

With the cold weather upon many of us, biking usually takes a back seat until the Spring. Luckily your child won’t have to miss out on the fun with the YBike as it can be used indoors and outdoors. If you are traveling to your family’s house for the holidays, you’ll be happy to know that assembly takes about 5 minutes and the entire unit is lightweight and super easy to transport.

Winning the Platinum Seal 2010 Award from Oppenheim Toy Portfolio, Creative Child Magazine Top Toy of the Year Award and the 2010 Parents Choice Award, the YBike is definitely a hot ticket item this season!

I really like the design of it, but also appreciate a balance bike that has the wide wheels.

I like that it allows kids to learn to balance MUCH better than riding a bike with training wheels. My husband is an avid mountain biker and he’s a big fan of these bikes!!

What I love most about this product is it’s unique and fun design. This does not resemble the other wooden balance bikes that you see a alot. Any kid would atleast give this bike a try based off its fun appeal. My son did have the oppurtunity to try this bike out at a store called Thinker Toys and I was very impressed with the quality and that it was easy to use. I don’t think I have anything negative to say on this bike, lol. I like it all. I am a subscriber and follow Childmode on FB as well.

I like that this is a balance bike, which I believe is the best way to learn. But I especially like this design which is slightly more stable because of the wider wheels, making the child feel more secure and able to ride. I like Child Mode on FB. I will post on Twitter and follow the feed.

I used to have a bike like this (although not as fancy) when I was growing up. It passed through all of my cousins and everyone loved the pink plastic bike. I’d love to give one of these to my cousin who has a 2 year old and is expecting another child next year. Who knows, it could even start a new family tradition.

Why do I like the YBike? Y wouldn’t I?? No pedals to slip off of, no greasy chain for the pants to get caught in, and the tires won’t go flat!!! That’s Y!

I love the simplicity of the entire bike. The safety of the bike is a big one for me. The ease of safe turning and the high clearance allows a young child to learn without getting hurt. I am also very pleased to see it can be used indoors or outdoors. Also–my nephew LOVES orange. It’s hard to find that color in many bikes.

I have a grandson that is two years of age. He enjoys a good adventure and this new revolutionary Y Bike was brought to my attention by his Uncle. I thought how wonderful this would be to help in his stages to balancing and riding a big kids bicycle later. There are still new innovative ideas been produced out there and I thank God for this one. Congrats on a successful invention!
