12 Days Of Giveaways Day 8: Valco Baby Princess Doll Stroller ($110 value)

As you know, from all of our posts on the 2010 ABC Kids Expo , there was a huge array of incredible products and baby gear. So much so that I still have yet to write about them all! One of the products that really impressed me, was Valco Baby‘s new “Just Like Mom” line of doll strollers.

Now, you are probably wondering why on earth a doll stroller would be such a big deal. The answer is really quite simple. Valco Baby has taken two high-end luxury strollers and shrunk them down. These are NOT your rinky-dink,  plastic toy-strollers that break after your child uses them on the road for the first time.

Both of these strollers are designed and engineered with the same precision and care Valco has put into their stroller range.

The Princess Pram ($110) is a stunning bassinet style stroller with hand-crafted spokes. It is available in Pink and Cirque (a black & white print).

The Amy ($75) is a 3-wheel design (like a jogger) and comes in the beautiful black and white Cirque.

Although there is a higher price point on these baby carriages, it is definitely worth it. As a mother to two little girls who has already gone through 3 doll carriages (yes 3!), I’ve seen my fair share of cheapies! The “Just Like Mom” range is nothing like any I have ever seen. If only toys were made this well!

WIN IT:

Valco Baby is offering our readers a chance to win one (1) Princess Doll Carriage (value $110) in their choice of colours: Cirque or Pink.

HOW TO ENTER:

What has your experience been like with doll carriages? Has your daughter ever had one? What did you like or not like about it? Leave a comment to enter!

My daughter has a “cheap” plastic stroller that has served her well when she was younger, but now that she is 4, she likes to take her dolls on walks around the neighborhood and definitely needs one that is a bit sturdier.

I have two sons. The eldest is four years old, and I would love to have a toy pram for him. He seems to have picked up on my interest in strollers, and I know he’d love to be able to drive our cats and his toy trains around the house :-) The Valcos are amongst the very few I’ve seen that have boy-friendly prints and colour schemes.

My daughter is only 22 months old and has torn through her first doll stroller already! She loves to push around her babies but the fabric was so cheap and thin that the supporting bar underneath ripped its way through :( My husband said he won’t buy her another one because they break so easily, but I’m sure that a high-quality one like this would be well worth the price! I would love to have this in Cirque for my little girl!

my kids have only ever had the cheap $7 umbrella one and while they have loved it until it has died and I’ve had to buy another….the point is that they have LOVED having one. I’d love to have one that won’t break! I’ve got a 2 and 1yr old who could still get many years of use out of a NICE one. =)

I have one inexpensive doll stroller for my daughter and I wish it was made better. It is in such rough condition right now, I have considered purchasing another. She loves it and uses it for everything from stuffed animals and dolls, to pretending it is a shopping cart and a spaceship. I would love win a new one to surprise her for the holidays.

My boys have all played with doll strollers, but I didn’t like the flimsiness of them- they were prone to breakage, and the seats were always coming unhooked. A nice, quality stroller would be hugely popular around here!

LOVE LOVE LOVE these… I need them both … seriously! I have two girls. Their favorite ride around town is our Valco Baby Tri Mode Twin Ex. I even bring it inside for them to play in & just chill to watch tv. They LOVE it. So naturally, I now see they each need one of these. {Santa PLEASEEEE drops 2 off!} I have blown through 3 of the “cheapy” kid strollers, and even a $45 Pottery Barn shopping cart. No matter how small they are, my kids decide they need to ride in them. AND, THEY THEN BREAK, TEAR, ETC… So I would love to offer the girls a real- heavy duty stroller to play with. The cheapy umbrellas have thin fabric that tears, and always slip off the frame where nothing can be carried until I fix it. Like I need one more thing on my to-do list! The name brand toy umbrella stroller (peg-p) fell apart the fastest for us…. along with it’s doll bed & other accessories- & that shocked me. They were all broken & trashed that week. PLEASE randomly chose our household for this. It’s a NEED, not a want!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

My 3 year old has had carriages and she likes to sit in them which doesn’t usually end well so we currently have a ban on all toys with wheels but that’s another story. The one I do like is the MacLaren I have a really cute picture of our youngest in my daughters toys Maclaren before she thought she could sit in it. All the other ones we have had and there have been a few have been quickly destroyed.

The doll carriages we have had have always been flimsy with the cloth covers easily coming off. It was impossible to fit most dolls as well and the kids quickly outgrew it. I think it is important to just go all in an buy something that will last, these look absolutely adorable and very sturdy! Thanks!

  110. Kathy S

    December 15, 2010 at 3:58 am

My daughter is in her 30’s, so the doll carriages in a reasonable price range for us then weren’t made very well. She had a pretty pink one, but the wheels weren’t very sturdy (they had thin plastic spokes,) and the hood of the carriage kept coming off because of flimsy metal hinges. My granddaughters have a nice, well made carriage which is holding up well. Now my son is expecting a little girl, and I’d love to give them a beautiful carriage like the Valco Princess Doll Carriage to put away for her when older.

These are amazing! All my doll carriages as a child (I saw all as we had to replace them alot) always broke. Doll carriages are usually made so cheaply. My daughter is only 6 months old, and I was already researching to find a well made doll stroller for her (and in a style I like), this is perfect!!

Valco has meet released a new and improved youngster sit for it’s strollers called the Joey furniture. Versions are useable for all strollers that train a seat- one for the 3 singles and one for the reliever. The Joey provides many extendable expected improvements on the senior form. Prototypic and front is the seatback top. Instead of the unretentive play that offered nowhere for your child’s progress to pose if they lapse degree. It’s relieve not the said as a filled walker center, but it’s really source eightpenny for an more place for your strain instant rider. The quantity of leg people beneath the set has been redoubled as cured, as the position sits often higher on yearner legs. This is very city for the important sit traveler who really gets untold more live to propose around.
