12 Days Of Holiday Giveaways Day 7: The Beauty Of Different

It is seldom that I come across a book that I just know everyone will love. By everyone, I mean men, women, teens, children, grandparents, aunts, uncles – everyone.

Our society is so obsessed with looks, exterior beauty, weight, occupations and other aspects that really don’t matter. Beauty is in different. That is what makes us all individuals, that is what makes us interesting.

Of course, leave it to one of the most talented photographers (and a women I admire greatly) Karen Walrond, to write such a book. She wrote The Beauty of Different to capture the uniqueness, individuality and beauty of people who are different. Karen is a Momversation panelist and has appeared on media outlets such as CNN and The Oprah Winfrey Show, you can view her entire bio on her website Chookooloonks.

What many people don’t understand is that ordinary is actually extraordinary. Thanks to her inspiring essays and stunning photography, Karen captures the extraordinary in such a way that you can literally feel through every flip of every page.

What makes a person beautiful is the goodness of their heart, not just physical beauty.

I think a person who is beautiful is someone who is genuinely caring and thinks about others. I meet a lot of people who seem very nice when I first meet them and say wonderful things but their actions unfortunately don’t live up to what they say.

nothing, i believe every person has something beatiful in him or her already because God passes his beauty to people, so if you look carefully you will find some beauty even in the least expected person

I can’t define beauty, because I think that everyone is beautiful in their own way. I actually think the “flaws” add to a person’s beauty, rather than detract from it (i.e. a chipped tooth, a large nose, kinky hair, wrinkles, etc.)

I believe that what makes a person beautiful is a loving, selfless, and caring heart. Inner beauty is the rarest and most authentic type of beauty and takes a lot of inner maintenance to always shine out t others.

I think a person’s heart makes someone beautiful. Of course there is outward beauty, but true beauty is what is on the inside of someone!
