Both of my daughters love to play with their toy kitchen and cook with play food! It is the only activity that really keeps them busy for more than 10 minutes and I guess it has to do with the fact that they are playing ‘real life’. Most of the food they play with is made from wood, but nothing comes close to these organic sandwiches made by the Canadian company Loooloo Textiles!
Not only are they made from organic materials, they are also biodegradable and compostable! Designer Joanna Notkin is passionate about sustainability as well as design and has taken those two and put them together using processes that have very little effect on the environment. You can even compost these toys when you are done playing with them – amazing!
You have the choice of three different sandwiches:
The Burger ($37.99) A whole grain bun topped with an all beef patty, fresh tomatoes, onions, cheese, pickles and lettuce from the organic garden.
Bagel, Lox & Cream Cheese ($37.99) has a whole grain bagel topped with organic onions, wild organic salmon and fresh farmer’s cheese made from organic milk.
And the classic PB & J ($34.99)!
