For Spring, Burberry introduced a new concept in their designs, by integrating some of their popular pieces from the women’s runway collection and making them into “mini” versions for kids. This season, in addition to their Kids Fall/Winter 2010 collection, they’ve repeated the popular line, but this time Father and Son are included as they have used the mens and women’s runway collections as inspiration. In the slide show below, we have included both the runway look and the replicated children’s piece.
Key influences are inspired by Burberry archives and classic Burberry icons including the trademark check, D-ring buckles and epaulettes, English embroidery, ruching, pleating, military pockets and zip detailing.
Fabrics this season include, gabardine, technical fabrics, tweed, washed denim, lightweight leather, cashmere, jersey and sumptuous velvet. Colours are include some fresh versions from Spring as well as subdued tones of trench, camel, melange, grey, natural white, moss brown, mustard, emerald, ice pink, military red, plum, deep blue, navy ice blue, dusty lavender and of course black.
In the slide show below we have included both the runway look and the replicated children’s piece.
Our favourite retailer, Childrensalon stocks many of the pieces above, but for more information on the line or for a full list of retailers, visit Burberry.com.
