We’ve been waiting with baited breath, and now it’s finally here, Stella McCartney Kids has finally launched! Fun and modern styles for boys and girls ages newborn to 12 years old are now available online to purchase in up to 200 countries. In addition, an iPhone app will be available to download on iTunes later today. The Stella McCartney Kids iPhone application includes special features such as a mechanical drawing game and the ability to instantly shop and browse the designer’s collections through the online store.
Every piece of clothing has been given a child’s first name. There is the Luis cashmere jumper featuring a reindeer in front, a Frida – the dress version of Luis, the Lara – an organic baseball shirt with stripes and floral prints and jackets such as the Sam double-breasted pea coat and Lee military jacket with embroidery and epaulette details.
Stella McCartney commented on her latest line saying: “I wanted this first collection to include basic pieces that are comfortable and that address a child’s needs, without sacrificing the fun and carefree elements.”
Fun pyjamas like the Andrea and Stephane feature a glow in the dark bumblebee and sheriff uniform print, all made with 100% organic cotton. A percentage of online sales from the Leo fox-print sweatshirt (pictured above) will benefit the McCartney’s “Meat Free Monday”.
If you head over to the website you will notice that Stella McCartney Kids has many interactive functions for both parents and kids. There is a playground section where children can download wallpapers, play a drawing game and explore other features. The “Stella’s picks” section highlights the designer’s personal favorites from the collection.
Prices for the collection range from £14 for a baby’s t-shirt to £115 for a coat.
You can purchase the collection online or in Stella McCartney stores in London, New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Milan, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait, Riyadh, Jeddah, Beirut and the soon to open location in Las Vegas. In March, a full range Spring-Summer collection will hit stores with an expanded retail distribution.
