Countdown to Kindergarten: The Newest Exhibit At Boston Children’s Museum

Just in time for school! Boston Children’s Museum has announced the opening of their newest permanent exhibit, Countdown to Kindergarten.

The 1,500 square foot model classroom exhibit will serve the general public as a place to play and learn during regular museum hours, both providing an opportunity to become familiar with early education and to learn how to support and advocate for young learners. The exhibit will also serve as a training center for teachers who would like to share and discuss how to best serve students during the first school days.

Every area of the exhibit will offer engaging activities and opportunities for parents and children to learn together. Teachers and educators will appreciate the various training workshops that provide all the materials and environments suggested by best practices in the field today.

Boston Children’s Museum will work with citywide early childhood family engagement initiatives to attract families from neighborhoods that have least participated in previous Countdown programs, playgroups, and other school readiness programs.

Hours and Admission:

The Museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Fridays until 9:00 p.m. Adults, children (1-15) and senior citizens, $12; children under 12 months and Museum members are always free. Fridays 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., all visitors $1.
