Tutus Are Not Just for Dress Up Anymore!

Tutus are trendy and hot!  Madonna has brought back the lace leggings to go along with this fashion trend.  Celebrity mini-me’s such as Suri Cruise and Violet Affleck have been spotted in this style. These tots wear their tutus out and about town as too-cute everyday frocks, and not just for dance class or playing dress-up. Tutus are even popping up as flower girl dresses at weddings. And don’t think for a moment that they’re just for toddlers, as babies and even pre-teens are getting in on the fun of wearing a tutu. In fact, the new Disney film, Alice in Wonderland, has inspired many a young miss to sport a tutu with a bit of a funky edge.

You could go traditional with a tutu and pair it with some tights and an elegant slipper shoe; or get wild and throw a black sweater and some zebra print boots together to really have your little diva’s rock and roll spirit come out. The bottom line is that nothing screams “look at me!” like a tutu.

Tutus are coming in all different sizes and shapes.  The pettiskirt has even reappeared on the scene.  You can find the short ballerina style tutus, longer versions similar to skirts, and even ones with flower petals in the hem.  One of the newest style of tutu in the teens and toddler clothes is the tank dress with a tutu attached as the skirt.  This style is versatile, comfortable to wear, and just darn cute!
