Kalahari Resort Invites A Live Mermaid To Launch Swimming/Water Awareness Program

Home to one of America’s largest indoor and outdoor waterparks, Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells has brought in a “live mermaid” during the summer season to remind kids and parents about water safety. With her 35-lb engineered tail and super-human abilities, such as holding her breath underwater for nearly five minutes,Mermaid Linden Wolbert, recently helped Kalahari lifeguards to officially unveil a refresher course in swim safety. Lindsay travels the world encouraging kids to learn how to swim and stopped off at Kalahari during this launch.

Kalahari’s Swimming/Water Awareness Program covers swimming refresher tips, such as:

  • Obey the rules on the in-park signage (parents, be sure to read all attraction signage)
  • Always observe an attraction before trying it to understand how it works
  • Check the depth of the attraction before trying it
  • Always follow the lifeguards’ instructions

With some of the largest and most innovative indoor and outdoor waterpark experiences, Kalahari is one of the leaders in the waterpark industry, and consider guest safety and security as their number one priority. Kalahari meets, or in many cases, exceeds, state and federal guidelines for water safety.

Kalahari Resort features an amazing 110-square-foot Indoor Theme Park, a full service Spa and Salon, 742 guestrooms, a fully equipped fitness center, on-site restaurants, unique retail shops, a 15-screen cinema and 100,000-square-foot convention center. Their Swimming/Water Awareness Program is geared towards children ages 3-12 and is meant to provide families with key safety tips prior to having a day of fun in the resort’s waterparks.
