Can Kids Make A Difference? American Girl Says “Yes!” With Shine On Now

We are so excited be part of this wonderful new initiative! American Girl’s exciting new Shine On Now officially launches today.

American Girl has introduced Shine on Now as a way for girls across the country to make a difference by helping those in need. Girls can visit www.shineonnow.com, everyday and donate free stars to go towards this effort.  American Girl will then take those stars and convert them into clothes, books, dolls and money – all of which is to be donated to the following five organizations:

  • Kids in Distressed Situations
  • Save the Children
  • National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutions
  • National Wildlife Federation

The goal is to collect one million stars by July 31, 2010.

In addition, for every star a girl contributes (she can donate up to 100 each day!), her name will automatically be entered in a daily drawing to win a new My American Girl™ doll!

As an official American Girl partner, Child Mode has donated 1,000 stars to Shine On Now! Every little bit counts so we urge you to hop on over and have your daughter sign up! It’s fun, it’s free and she will be making a difference in other kids’ lives. Head on over to Shine on Now and be sure to bookmark their website. The last day to donate stars is July 30, 2010 with the program ending July 31st.
