Gipsy Tales of Winter: Oilily’s Fall Winter 2010 Collection for Children
Since 1963 the beloved clothing line for kids Oilily, has been creating whismsical European designed clothing for kids. There are quite a few die hard fans of the brand who were taken aback when it was announced the closing of their company last year. After taking a brief hiatus, Oilily is back doing what they do best, creating gorgeous clothing for children!
Oilily’ latest Autumn/Winter Collection 2010 entitled, ‘Gipsy Tales of Winter’ is eye-catching and unconventional. Based on unconventional tales of dreams and freedom, the Gipsy collection is sure to please!
For girls, flowers (roses in particular) reign supreme. Cobalt blues, warm reds and deep pinks are the basis of the color scheme. You can also find vibrant all-over-prints of rambling roses finished with hand-embroidered rosebuds, soft jersey dresses, a folkloric cotton dress with a well-balanced mix of tartan patterns, floral prints and hand embroideries, or real gipsy skirts and dresses in red and white polka dots with lots of frills. The collection is a feast for the senses.
Placement prints such as their very own ‘gipsy dolly’ is one of the main influences in this line.
Boys love rugged travel and Oilily plays with this idea with their high-quality apparel for the little men. High-quality long sleeve shirts and hoodies feature placement prints that take inspiration from vehicles. One depicts a pile of cars for sale and a very special ‘gipsy voyage’ by a man and dog sharing a motorcycle. Soft woolen sweaters that combine tartan patterns and stripes and jersey collections with hand embroideries finish up the look.
The Newborn Collection takes soft, cuddly and oh so warm jersey styles and ads fashionable touches such as pink and red dots, stripes and lots of red Scottish tartan!
