City Select: Baby Jogger’s New Innovative Multi-Functional Stroller

In January 2010, The Baby Jogger Company introduced their new City Select – a cutting-edge stroller that can be customized to fit the needs of a growing family.

The City Select begins as a single capacity stroller and can then be mixed and matched with various seats, bassinets and car seats, presenting the possibility of up to 18 unique seating combinations (including double tiered car seats, bassinets and single seat combos). What makes this stroller really appealing is it’s capability to expand into a double stroller. Using their unique attachment method, you can simply snap on a second seat when your 2nd child arrives, which eliminates the need to purchase an additional stroller.

Proving to be a truly one-of-kind, the City Select is the only in-line stroller to fold in one simple step. Due to it’s optimum multi-functionality, the City Select was recognized as one of the top ten most innovative products of 2009 by the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association.

Other features include:

  • 12″ forever-air rear wheels
  • 8″ lightweight dual front quick-release wheels with front wheel suspension
  • A hand operated parking break
  • Multi-position seat recline
  • Adjustable sun canopy with clear view window and adjustable head height up to an additional 4 inches
  • Foot well tilt feature for added leg support
  • Adjustable 5-point safety harness with shoulder pads and buckle cover.

The City Select comes in Ruby, Onyx or Diamond hues and has a recommended maximum weight capacity of 45 lbs per seat. This model retails as a single for $499.99 on Amazon.com and has double conversion kits for the second seat or a bassinet that can be purchased separately.

The Phil and Ted’s Sport Buggy is a wonderfully lightweight and maneuverable all-terrain stroller with a unique toddler seat system that allows two kids to share the same stroller in many different configurations. The Sport Buggy is the long awaited upgrade and newest version of the very popular Phil and Ted’s Stroller. If you need more information Check out: http://www.babychuckles.co.uk/

Doubles kit allows 2 different seating positions to allow for the growth of your children. There have been a couple of slight frays to the material where the tubular frame is inserted. This is virtually un noticeable and has had some stitching to re reinforce the area. For more Double kits visit the below link:

The problem with the Phil and Ted is its weight requirments for the frame big kid must always be on top. Example is that st 3 months old my third son was too big to be in the newborn position. He literally took up the entire room and my second son couldn’t be on top. Putting him in the toddler seat meant he would be slouched. Luckily he wasn’t too far off in weight with his brother ( number two not number one) however now I have a little girl. The same thing isn’t happening with them. He weighs so much and she’s getting too big for the newborn position. I can’t possible put her in the toddler seat as she can’t even sit up yet. The stroller is great stroller just not a newborn accessible stroller
