Looking For A Stress-Free & Relaxing Family Vacation For Mother’s Day? Try a Dude Ranch!
Looking for a relaxing family vacation this mother’s day, how about a Dude Ranch?
The Dude Ranchers Association is a collection of a hundred plus ranches focused in the western United States that have met strict guidelines in areas such as accommodations, customer service and honesty. Below are three samples of what a dude ranch can offer the whole family.
Wind Walker Guest Ranch in Utah offers all-inclusive packages which include their kid connection program, which encourages connecting with and learning from nature with activities such as:
- Nature hikes where kids will be taught about wild edible plants, building and racing Huck Finn style rafts and sky-gazing and constellation exploration at night. While the kids are busy, mom can relax and unwind with the nature spa through group meditation or chakra realignment.
- Another option is to try out the guided history tour of the trails once trekked by the Paiute Native Americans. Dads might be interested in navigating the Skyline Trail while biking through on a mountain bike.
- As the kids are swimming or riding trails in the Caballeros Kid’s Program, mom and dad can spend the day together at Rancho de los Caballeros, by discovering desert wonders during a guided jeep tour or checking out the award winning golf course. Lots of pampering is available at the Spa at Los Caballeros, where services range from reiki and hohokam massage to the ranch hand manicure and purification ritual wrap.
- At C Lazy U Ranch in Colorado, kids can join in the excitement at day camps or the family can stay together for a day of horseback riding- lessons included. After wards, families can try out a new approach to camping and then follow dinner with a night of relaxing by the fire with s’mores and an then call it a night in the pre-constructed luxury tents complete with comfy beds.
Definitely a different option from the usual Caribbean or European vacation – stress-free and fun with activities for all! Rates can be for a few days or a full week and many ranches have all-inclusive packages.
