Madonna & Lourdes Leon Attend Bent On Learning Event

Madonna and her 13-year-old daughter Lourdes Leon attended the Bent on Learning benefit, sponsored by Alice + Olivia, Wednesday night (April 28) in New York City. Lourdes donned an interesting look with an embellished shift dress, leather jacket ripped nylons and boots. I wonder if any of the pieces are from her new Material Girl line?

Other guests in attendance included Gwyneth Paltrow, Krysten Ritter, Hilary Rhoda and Melissa George.

Yogi Eddie Stern, a member of Bent on Learning’s board of directors introduced the concept of bringing yoga instruction to public schools to many of the A-listers who attended the event, which was held at The Puck Building in Soho.

The evening included a short cocktail reception followed by a dinner and many of the celebrities appeared to be very supportive of the idea.

“Yoga keeps me centered,” cooed Ritter, whose workout routine also includes spinning. “It’s great for kids to learn, especially New York City kids.” WWD reported.

“Yoga is a place where you can connect with mind, body and spirit on a mat,” added Donna Karan. “I started it when I was 18 and that was three years ago,” she deadpanned.

Towards the night’s end, Sean Lennon’s band, “The Ghost of the Saber Toothed Tiger” performed a set.

I love your blog. I just read that Madonna announced she is giving music a rest, saying she doesn’t have the “time or energy” to sing. Interesting! What do you think about that?
