Cupcakes & Pastries: Ethereal Dresses For Girls

Cupcakes & Pastries debuted their first collection of gorgeous girls wear during the Spring/Summer 2009 season. Inshi Khanna, the mother of a now 2-year-old girl is the creative talent behind this line. As the name suggests, the concept behind Cupcakes & Pastries was the mother-daughter afternoon tea parties where cookies, candies, tea and cupcakes & pastries are served!

“Initially, the dresses were created with my daughter in mind” says Inshi Khanna. “And after seeing how adorable the dresses turned out, we (my husband and I) knew we would introduce them to the market. The collection immediately received an amazing response from many of the finest retailers throughout the country and thus, provided enough validation.”

Taking inspiration from nature, architecture, Old English, French or Indian movies, Inshi has put together timeless dresses for girls with a woman’s contemporary flair.

These delicate airy dresses from Cupcakes & Pastries have an almost ethereal nature to them and the light flounce is perfect for dancing and playing while the design makes these dresses great for both casual and more formal wear. Some of the dresses are simpler than others while many feature gorgeous beading and intricate detailing.

Although it is still quite cool where we live, my daughter has insisted upon wearing her Meringue dress for the last couple of days – I actually had to hide the dress from her in order to wash it! Hand washing and dry cleaning is recommended for these pieces as they are more delicate in nature
