A.C. Moore & Easter Seals Get Creative & Crafty For Autism

Coinciding with National Autism Awareness Month in April, A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts has teamed up with Easter Seals and launched a in-store campaign and crafting event for customers to Act for Autism. Every customer who visits any A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts store from March 1 through April 17th will be given the opportunity to donate $1 to Easter Seals’ Act for Autism campaign at checkout to support Easter Seals autism services, giving children and adults access to critical services to help them in their everyday life, work and play.

In addition to this campaign, on April 17, 2010 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. EST, A.C. Moore Arts & Crafts will be hosting a free in-store “Make and Take” craft event at each of its 135 locations. Families and children will be able to decorate an Act for Autism jigsaw puzzle or for those who can’t make it to the store, instructions to create one at home will be available online.

The money raised will support Easter Seals autism services in those same local communities, giving thousands of children and adults with autism access to critical services that help them live, learn, work, and play. One in 110 children are now being diagnosed with autism and there is a increasing need for funding, services and support.
