Madonna & Lourdes To Launch “Material Girl” Junior’s Clothing Line
It was announced yesterday that MG Icon, the newly formed partnership between Madonna and Iconix Brand Group, Inc., will be launching their first “Material Girl” collection at Macy’s this fall. This fast-fashion junior collection is set to launch exclusively in 200 Macy’s stores and online at www.macys.com in August 2010 for the back-to-school- season.
Neil Cole, CEO and Chairman, Iconix, stated, “We are excited to announce the first in a series of new brands that will be developed under our partnership with Madonna. ‘Material Girl’ has a powerful retail partner in Macy’s and we look forward to working together to deliver an innovative launch for our consumers.”

Madonna is a fashion icon who can bring a new dimension to our juniors customer,” said Jeff Gennette, Macy’s chief merchandising officer. “‘Material Girl’ will enhance the excitement of fast fashion at Macy’s.”
This new “Material Girl” collection was inspired and designed with Madonna, her daughter Lourdes and the Iconix Brand Group’s fashion department. Back-to-school apparel including footwear, handbags, clothing and jewelry will retail between $12.00 and $40.00 Additional lines in the lifestyle and beauty sectors (including a fragrance) are set to roll out beginning 2011.
The Iconix Brand Group is a successful corporation that owns brands such as Ed Hardy, Madgley Mischka, Candies, Joe Boxer and Mossimo. It will be interesting to see their collaboration with the Queen of Pop and her daughter Lourdes!
