RECALL: Children’s Bangle Bracelets by Chandigarh Fashion

Along with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Chandigarh Fashion Inc., of Flushing, N.Y. is recalling 1,200 of their children’s bangles due to high levels of lead in the surface paint coating. The gold bracelets were sold in packs of 24 and have stripes of either red, maroon, black, orange or green. They were sold at Chandigarh Fashion stores in Flushing, N.Y. and Sonia Selections stores in Chicago, Ill. from May 2007 through August 2008 for about $2.

No incidents or injuries have been reported so far, however the CPSC is recommending that consumers take the bracelets away from their children and return them to the store where purchased for a full refund.

To report a dangerous product or a product-related injury, call CPSC’s Hotline at (800) 638-2772 or CPSC’s teletypewriter at (301) 595-7054.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled bracelets from children and return the bracelets to the store where purchased for a full refund.
