Everyone around me seems to be getting pregnant. I’ve joked that there must be something in the water, but my generation seems to be settling down now, starting their families and building a nest. The photos on Facebook and countless baby bumps, combined with my eldest daughter’s 9th birthday yesterday (whaaaat?!) have had me thinking back to my own pregnancies. My first pregnancy was honestly the most special. I was becoming a mother for the first time, everything was new and unknown. Scary yet terribly exciting. When we found out I was pregnant, my husband and I broke into happy […] Continue reading →

They’re here! We recently featured My Inner Fire on Child Mode and their fall winter collection is now available and oh so gorgeous! I’m currently crushing on the white and light purple leggings with the feathers. I have a thing for feathers and white leggings…   The colours are jewel-toned and oh so gorgeous. I’m loving the unique designs that Inner Fire has implemented here. The deer design on the teal leggings, subtle florals on the purple and the tribal on the pink and purple pants. These come in cropped versions as well if you prefer capris.  In case you […] Continue reading →

My Inner Fire

I’m a little bit of a yoga pant aficionado. I don’t even want to admit how many pairs I have. Capris, shorts, yoga leggings – I’m obsessed with them all! Last year I came across a new (to me) company based in Canada, that finds inspiration for their designs from nature and the beauty that surrounds us. The leggings are designed and manufactured in Vancouver, BC and are made from 88% recycled polyester and 12% spandex. The material is treated with anti-microbial Chitosante treatment which means less stink! Specialized printing process means no inks are wasted in the process and […] Continue reading →

Between visits with friends and trips to the store, beach and back again, hand sanitizer is a must for our family when traveling locally or out of town. It’s incredible how quickly germs spread and if my kids aren’t using a form of sanitizer or soap, they’re bound to all get sick in some way or another.  I can’t afford to get sick. As a yoga teacher, writer and business owner I truly can’t afford to get any sort of bug, which is why I carry these little bottles of PURELL around in my car, purse and glove box. The larger […] Continue reading →

Shopping tends to get a little more challenging when you have children. Instead of that deep yearning to check out every store, you find yourself drawn to the ones that have everything you need under one roof. The parking, the buckling and unbuckling of car seats, the traffic, kids asking if we’re almost done – it’s exhausting.  If you ask my husband what my favourite store is in the city, he will answer with “Marshalls” almost immediately. Whether I’m shopping for myself or my family, it’s my go-to store for brand-name fashions, gifts, kitchenware and toys at a deeply discounted price.  Over the weekend, […] Continue reading →

I love purses, I really do. In fact, I used to collect handbags…until I became a mother. Handbags were replaced by diaper bags and now my pocket holds my debit and credit card most days (if I’m lucky). I’ve succumb to the bad habit of carrying around two cards and leaving my wallet at home. We are forever in a rush and somehow it’s become my norm. The problem with this is that I usually miss out on collecting points on purchases as I never have my loyalty rewards cards with me.  Recently I was introduced to an app called […] Continue reading →
